Malcolm Muggeridge, British journalist
a few interesting quotes.
“If God is dead, somebody is going to have to take his place. It will be megalomania or erotomania, the drive for power or the drive for pleasure, the clenched fist or the phallus, Hitler or Hugh Hefner.”
“Never forget that only dead fish swim with the stream.”
"People do not believe lies because they have to, but because they want to."

Wow, I bet he didn't know that god himself is an advocate of those sentiments.
But of course, god is himself a liar and compels his aficionados to do likewise, as is aptly demonstrated here.

Just look in the commentaries. That's why we have them.
Even more reason to reject a god that can't unambiguously assert his imperitives.
Why embrace a deity that can't clearly spell out his mandates?
Obviously god needs to grow up.
It's all clear. Go to yeshiva and study.
I wouldn't need to go yeshiva and study if it were all clear. Evidently, clarity is a menace to chareidi Judaism and murky halacha is the result.
The same God who created the Torah created nature. So there should be no need to study science.
Au contraire.
The same Torah that created god precipitated among rationalists explicatory science. That of course ultimately will leave chareidi judaism, taliban islam and assorted freakish cults in the dustbin of history.
"I wouldn't need to go yeshiva and study if it were all clear." -- Abe, I sympathise with you, but your logic failed you there. It's all clear outside, but you have to leave the house and go outside to see that it's clear. Similarly, the argument is that you'd have to go to yeshiva to see the clarity.
No, I don't.
If my local weather forecast informs me that that its presently sunny outside, there's no reason to suspect that its raining.
OTOH, the torah is so contradictory, murky and somewhat immoral, that years in authoritarian yeshivas are required to sanitize and reconcile the inconsistencies.
The result is a clutter of casuistic vacuity masquerading as logic. Any rational perusal of Stein's fallacious premises, evidence and proofs quickly validates my sentiments.
"the torah is so contradictory, murky and somewhat immoral"
You mean in comparison to atheism which is so nonsensical atheists themselves don't really believe it
